What is I-Wood?
I-Wood is a Danish developer and manufacturer of sustainable ceilings and wall cladding in a high quality. In addition to creating a beautiful visual expression, this also ensures a better indoor climate. The very idea of I-Wood acoustic panels is to make it as easy as possible to mount molded ceiling and wall cladding. For I-Wood, quality and the environment are an important factor and it is, therefore, natural for them that the essential certifications and approvals are in order.

About the acoustic panels
I-Wood offers wood acoustic panels in 3 different variations: Basic, Medio+, and Pro +. In addition, you can also select from 7 different colors.
It is common for the wood panels to be produced in whole MDF boards with oak veneer. This provides a much easier installation, as the moldings themselves are simply milled out on the front. In addition, the felt sheets are fire-retardant, hypoallergenic and at the same time provide an effective sound-absorbing effect. But, let’s elaborate on the different variants a bit.
Basic
The basic model is the most frequently seen on walls, but that does not mean that they can not be used elsewhere! They are also used for fireplaces, counters, headboards, or cabinet modules. These wood panels are made without finger joints, but do not worry - it is still easy to achieve a uniform and beautiful finish.
This model is made as standard in the dimensions: H: 240 cm x W: 30 cm x D: 1.6 cm. And H: 278 cm x W: 30 cm x D: 1.6 cm.

Medio+
The Medio+ version is often used for ceiling or wall cladding, and works both to improve acoustics and as decoration. Medio+ is also equipped with an extra MDF board on the back, which provides safety in case of fire.
This model is made to measure as standard: H: 240 x W: 30 x D: 2.8 cm.

Pro +
Pro + is often used for ceilings. These boards are also equipped with finger joints. They are designed with carved acoustic panels on the back, which allow the sound to travel through the felt and thus achieve fantastic acoustics. Pro + in combination with the mineral wool behind the panels provides the most optimal sound/acoustics.
This model is made in the standard dimensions: H: 240 cm x W: 30 cm x D: 1.6 cm.

Sound absorption or acoustics
At I-Wood, there is a strong focus on the sound-absorbing property, and all the panels are therefore designed to reduce noise and reverberation. When we talk about acoustics, we mean how long the sound is about to disappear in a room. If you have poor acoustics, the sound will be thrown around the room, which gives a long reverberation.
A reverberation time of 0.6 seconds is recommended and when using the I-Wood Pro + panels with 45 mm mineral wool behind them, a reverberation time of 0.5 seconds will be achieved, which thus provides the optimal sound experience.
How are I-Wood acoustic panels sustainable?
The felt that all the panels are equipped with is made of recycled plastic which, among other things, is collected from the world's oceans.
The wood in the panels is purchased exclusively from FSC-certified dealers - which means that the wood is from forests where no more wood is felled than the forest can reproduce. In this way, sustainable forestry is ensured, with a strong focus on the reproduction of plant life, good working conditions, and protected wildlife.
The sawdust and waste that will remain in production are recycled to heat I-Wood's premises.

Acoustic panels by fireplaces
The acoustic panels have become very popular in 2020. We often see them being used together with our Foco built-in bio fireplace or as a back wall by a wall-mounted bio fireplace. This creates a super stylish and exclusive look. It can be used without worry, as the wall-mounted bio fireplaces are made of fireproof material and at the same time hang on a bracket that provides some air between the wall and the fireplace.
With our built-in bio fireplace, fire insulation must be provided as usual around the fireplace itself, and the wood panels on the wall will, therefore, have no effect on fire safety.
